My fourth exhibition this year... now Im going to take a brake..

Yesterday I did open my fourth exhibition. We are having a festival in my hometown and having art and design shows all over the town. The festival is from thursday to sunday.

Im having my Lovely Ladies with me, both in frames and also my new production of memory cards to hang on the refrigerator.

and of cours my beautiful year book 2013 and my sketch books.

Ill tell you later how the weekend vent but I can tell you now that the opening was a succes..

My newest Lovely Lady..

Here is my newest Lovely Lady, she is amazing, just the way she is. 

I think she is a blend of my Ladys and my Angels, she has a long neck like my Angels but a big nose as my Ladys. Hope you like her..❤

My last exhibition this year, hopefully..

Next thursday Im opening my fourth exhibition this year, thats little to much. We are having a festival in my hometown Keflavík. ( www.ljosanott.is/dagskra )

I have been painting and painting and now I have to take a little brake as the school have started and Im back to work. 

Last weekend I did take a part in a little project. We had Reykjavík Cultur Night. 

A great design store called Kirsuberjatréið situated in downtown Reykjavík

had a suitcase market. You could  ask to get a spot and I did. 

We were 27 people who took apart and everyone could bring design or artwork they could pack in one suitcase, a chair and a little desk. I brought my cards in a small suitcase. This was a sunny and beautiful day and Reykjavík was full of people. 

You can see me there wearing my black dress in the front, I thought I would melt down it was such a warm day. I did not take any photos, forgot my camera at home but I did find this one on the internet. Many people liked my cards and bought some and that made me very happy ❤

Yesterday night I was just sitting down watching tv, Im the one that always have to be knitting or drawing so as I sat in my chair with my dog in my lap I did draw two Ladys on a caffe mug, I needed one for my work. It was fun you should try.

PPF friends, Im so sorry but I dont have had time to comment on all your lovely artworks, I do go in to the page now and then to see what you are making but I need few more hours in my day to have time to do all the things I want to do.

The best comment ever..

Last week I signed in to a new class, Angels in my studio. I did that knowing that I was not having time to take all the classes they have. I found this class by teacher Claudia Olivios very interesting.

This is all about layers by layers, stamping, cutting and painting and painting over again. I wanted to use silver leaf, I have never used them and I found it very difficult but at the end I think I know the best way to use them, just have to be patient...

This pink colored angel was the first one I made and I was very happy with my work.

This one is nr. 2 she is a little different from the first one, maybe because she is smaller. I dont know, but I like her, think the orange - blue work great together and the little bird looks so cute on her hand.

This one is nr. 3 and I have one more to go. This time I did use gold leaf and I think that is ok too. I did little more than stamping, I did some doodling too.. Most of the time I dont like the color of gold but I think she looks good with the gold around her head. 

I was just now as I write this getting comment from the teacher and that made my heart smile, she said..

I am absolutely THRILLED by your work Sigga!

Guardian Angels

I did find a little time for my self and made four more Guardian Angels, they came out very nice. I did order some white carton and I have bought few frames.

Work in progress..or maybe Im done..

 Im working on this one now, painting over an old painting that I didn't really like..

I did cut the dress form a magazine and painted the face and the background.

I had to paint the rest of the skirt and it looks better on the last photo.

Then it was the background,,, I had to take a time before I did start working on the background.

I think it looks ok, but what to do with the rest.... think, think, think...

Now I think Im done,,, might put on a little red lipstick...

To day I sold one of my old paintings, a special one..

Thats the one, first I draw, then paint with watercolors. When dry I did some embroidery. 

I kind of liked these very much. I have 3 more to sell. 

I like the colors very much and the way they look after my embroidery. 

The paper is handmade from Tibet. I bought the paper in Sweden when 

I was there last sommar taking a class in paper making and embroidery.

This week I have not had a time to paint at all so Im adding my last post, 
hope that you dont mind.

My new greeting cards.

Don´t they look stunning

Yesterday my greeting cards arrived and Im so happy with them. They came out perfect and the paper is fantastic, thick and nice. Im sure Im going to do some more business with the company I ordered them from.

After working on my girls for hours I think Im happy with the results. I love the color and I love their faces and I love the background....If you click on the photo I think you can see the background better..

I have also been working on smaller paintings like this summer angel.

And that old owl, I love owls.

Im on the road again......

For almost a month I have been wanting to paint something else than my Lovely Ladys and after going through all my books I got my creative back. I have been drawing, coloring, painting and painting..and painting more..

I did a few small one and then I started working on this one. This one is big A3+

The drawing came out beautiful, 4 adorable girls.

First I colored it with Neocolor.

 Then I took my favorite brush from China and went over all the details, starting with the face, then the eyes, then the hair and the clothing in the end. 

Then it was a thin white acryl paint all over the colors. 

When dried I did the outlining with pencils and my China brush again.

Then I took my Prismacolor and worked a little with each face.

When completely dry I went over all the outlines again with a black marker xf.

Now it was time to do the eyes perfect.

Im very happy with my painting but Im only half the way all the doodling and the background waiting for tomorrow to come..

A new one

I have been trying to paint something different from my Lovely Ladys but that has not been working. I always end up painting one more.

I think this one is a nice one, I did use modeling paste and stencil to do her dress and scarf and I think it came out very nice. So every time Im using some of the teknik Im learning from the Life Book.

Im in love with my new Ipad...

How much fun can it be playing with your Ipad.

After I found out which app to buy Im having so much fun drawing with my Ipad and the bubble pen I bought too. 

This one was my first one.

And this one was my second one I made after I found out about how to make the painting small and big and move it around.

My exhibition

In beginning of July I was getting ready for my fifth solo exhibition.  I had to put all of my Lovely Ladys in frame and pack them and take them to the restaurant where im having my exhibition. It takes time to frame and pack 23 Ladys..

The restaurant has big walls and it took time until I was happy with all of my ladys.

July is a month of summer holidays so many people are out of town but I hope some find time to pass by and have a look.

What I love most about NY is that you never know what to except. This time there was a Yoga class on Times Square. Hundred of people doing Yoga out in the street.

This flag was outside our hotel window, not bad, I love this sign.

We did a little shopping in our favorite shop.. maybe little more than little..

And of cours I went to Micheles and did a little shopping, just little...

We saw a lot of funny people.. like these two guys having a chat on Times Square. 

And  we did eat a delicious food like this pizza at Eately...

Cant wait to go there again.

Just in love with NY..

My Owl

Last weeks class at the Life Book was with Juliette Crane, How to paint whimsy animals. I did want to make an Owl and I did this little cute thing. But I did a mistake, I made her with a sleeves but not a wings so this is a Owl with sleeves surrounded with flying flowers, I must have been thinking of girl when I painted her and I was to tired efter my New York days. 

I think she is cute.

Going to practice more on whimsy animals.

Postcard swap... New York and more....

Last week I was on a trip to New York with my family. We stayed in Long Island for two nights with a family and then in Manhattan for two nights. 

We did have a very nice time both with the family and then in the city.

Just before we vent I made these postcards for a postcard swap I was taking part in.

Im always late posting here but someone has to be the last one...

I went to Michaels in Staten Island and bought a little art stuff, they did not have Golden gel so I have to get it later but I bought so cheep stamps, one dollar each some of them, here in Iceland I have to pay dollars 20 or more for each. 

I did not find it easy to find magazine from Stampington but I found two Somerset Studio and one Cloth, Paper, Scissors. I was going to buy Journaling but I have to order it as I did not find one.

Happy last PPF friday...

When I wake up I think of you...

I think this one is going to be my last Lovely Lady, I dont know how many I have made but I think they are about 30.. It is about time to start doing something else..

This one is the quiet one, dosent say much but does think more. She is young and she is in love. I think she is beautiful...

But maybe I cant stop and start a new one tomorrow and make them 40.. who knows..

Today is a beautiful day, the sun is shining and the weather is great.. think Im going to go for an Ice cream....
