Workshop with Tracy Verdugo from Australia

In August 2019 I was so lucky to take a workshop again with the 

adorable Tracy Verdugo.

The workshop was held in Son Norway hosted by my friend 

Tove Marie Hunt Sörensen.

 there and new too. 

This was a very international group. We were from Australia, 

England, France, Sweden, USA, Iceland and Norway.

Here I'm with my wonderful friend Tracy Verdugo who 

came all the way from Australia to have a workshop for us.

I have taken a class from her too.

The three amigos met again.

Valérie from France, I form Iceland and Mette from Norway.

We met in an online class year 2012 and have been good friends since then..

New painting..

I did star working on this one when I took a workshop in Norway in May.

The teacher was Jenny Grant.

I had a wonderful time, painting for 3 days with wonderful friends both old and new.

Can't wait for the next workshop we take together.

Jenny the teacher is an angel, I became her friend in some online FB group and then I took her class in LB and then she was the host for Tracys class in Sweden two years ago.

And here is another one, this one is old, always trying to finish with this one but never happy, think Ill collage over her and start all over again.

New painting..

This weekend was a painting weekend.

I had started this one few days ago but then lost the interest and kept it standing in my studio.

On Friday I did start again and didn't quit until finished..

And Im so happy with it.

Think this little dog is amazing, he is so much looking at me asking me to come and play just like my dog does all the time :)

This summer I have been painting a lot...

I took a class by lovely Jenny Grant but she was the host when I

 was in Stockholm last summer taking Tracy Verdugo´s class Paint Mojo. 

Jenny´s class was on Life Book, a year long class with

 new teacher every week and a lot of 

new method to learn in every class.

I wanted to use brighter colours and I did 

add a little gold on the Mandalas.

I like them but I feel like I´m not finished yet, 

have to add a little here and there..

Im painting and painting...

Im enjoying the summer, having all the day just for me and my paint.

Three more weeks and then Ill start working again.

I took a little class last week, Birds on Birds taught by Alison O´Donoghue.

I love the new method I learned there and have been mixing it with my art in my new paintings which I cant show you yet as they are going to be on an exhibition. Ill tell you all about later. 

But I can show you the one I did practising..

This one is the first one I made, finished and signed :)

That one is my second one and already in frame :)

The third and last one is painted on Camembert cheese wooden box. I love this one round and funny. 

I love this method and soon i can show you how I have used in my art with my beautiful lovely ladies :)

Im in love.. with my new painting :)

This week I´m staying in a summerhouse here in Iceland for a week. 

Surprice, but the sun has been shining the whole week, best summer we have had for a long time.

I took a little paint with me and two canvas. I have finished the first one and started the other one.

Love painting like this, took a little class Birds on birds, you can get more information here above in Classes I have taken :) 

Ill post a new photo when I´m back home, my internet is not working here out in the country.

Painting in the sun

Yesterday we had a beautiful weather in Iceland so

I took my canvas out and did a little painting in the sun.

Just if we could get more sunny days here, today it is cold and no sun.. so Im painting inside..

 I was playing with ink, stencils and paint..

Not sure about the outcome, I'm not finished yet.

The ink did dry fast in the sun.

Played a little with hot and cold colours.

I did paint a painting that I was happy with :)

I had to give last Life Book class another try, not happy with the first one I made.

So I started making background with my ink.

Then it was to draw a Mandala, that was easy as I love Mandala making.

After the Mandala was ready painted I did start with the girl holding the Mandala.

Then it was to paint and use some pens for the outline. Some ink here and there.

Litle paint here and there, some more lines and little paint on the Mandala.

Dont you think she is ok? I think so, happy with the colours and happy with the Mandala. The face is ok but the hands are still to small.. Have to practice on hands :)

Class with Este Macleod, Explore Color

I have never painted flowers before and I really never liked painted flowers. One day a friend told me about a class by Esty Macleod. I had never heard anything about this teacher but got excited when the first one sold out in one moment. I did sign up and after signing up I found out It was all about painting flowers and fruit, or still life painting.

It was not my favorite but I thought I had to give it a try..

Este was a new kind of teacher for me, she was teaching a very different way from the teachers I had taken classes from before. But I liked her way, liked it very much. 

There was a lot for me to learn and Im still struggling.

You can see how different they are my paintings, I have the last one on my desk waiting for a time to  finish that one and I might work a little more on this one above to.

Always learning something new.

Paint Mojo in Sweden. my dream came true..

Paint Mojo, Sweden 2015

I was the lucky one to have the opportunity to take a weekend class with Tracy Verdugo in Sollentuna, Sweden last weekend. We were 20 girls that took the class and I can't describe how much fun we had.

We came from many different countries, France, Norway, Finland, Ireland (living in Sweden) Hungary (living in Sweden) Sweden and Iceland and of course Tracy, the teacher lives in Australia.

I did travel from home Friday morning, arriving in Sweden at noon. Took the train to the hotel in Sollentuna. From there I went strait to the train again and in to Stockholm as I had to do a little shopping in Ahléns for my granddaughter. Back to the hotel again and there in the lobby I met my dear Valéri from France but we were sharing a room. At dinnertime we were invited to a Chiaras (from Ireland) and Zsuzannas from (Hungery) room for a little party before we went down for a dinner. There we meet Heidi (from Norway) and Mette (also living in Norway).

There we are I, Mette and Valéri, friends that have been taking a lot of classes online together and it was like  that we had been friends forever. We had a wonderful evening but went early to bed as we had to have a good sleep before class start in the morning.

We arrived to Edsvik Konsthall 09.30 in the morning but that´s where the class took place. There we met Tracy and Jenny and the other girls that were going to take the class to. 

Tracy is a wonderful teacher, she is so calm and so nice to be around.

We did start by having a little meeting outside, the weather was great and the sun was there.

Then we started painting.... making symbols, with all kind of colors and shapes, turning and turning... Time was flying, we were having a great time in a great studio and we did get a great lunch there to :)

Exhibition in Edviks Konsthall

On the top floor at Edsvik Konsthall there was a exhibition with the great artist Marc Chagall, we went there to get a inspiration for our symbol making

In the evening we staying at the hotel had dinner together at Spice, a Indian restaurant close to the hotel. The food was great and the beer was super good one imported from India.

The next morning there were colors, bright and beautiful colors on every ones canvas, soft music and a little laughter here and there. This was the weekend... best ever for me.

It was not easy to say good bye to all the beautiful artists staying together over the weekend, painting and painting. Taking a workshop like this is something all artist should do. 

Cant wait for the next workshop, next year :)

Painting over one more time :)

I had an old and ugly painting, very dark colors and just not to look at..

So I got my gesso and painted over with my gesso..

Now I had a white canvas

Now it was time to start painting, first with yellow and orange,

 then red, turning the canvas all the time..

then it was the blue and green.

And when dry I started drawing

I did draw a girl, a girl with a bird..

Not new for me, it is always a girl and a bird..

Now it was time to bring some color to the face and to the bird..

Here she was almost done..

And here she is, beautiful and bright.

My wall pillow paintings....

Like I told you before I did make some pillow painting.

Love how they look.

Yesterday I did spray some varnish over them. 

Just few hours later a customer came to my house and bought one of them.

Look how pretty she looks..

Hope that the new owner is happy with her new pillow painting.

New day - new paintings... Pillow paintings - painting on pillow...

I love to try something new.

I bought me some cotton, did draw some Lovely Ladies with birds.. and started painting..

After painting my girls I did add black background I love the way they turned out.

I did use my new stencil with some white on the black background.

This was just getting better and better..

One almost ready, love my new wall pillows.
