Sometimes I just draw...

I have not been painting for a week now, to tired after work but this weekend is a long weekend from work, 4 days :) so tonight I started painting again :)
But I have nothing to show yet so I show you my drawing I did this week.
I love to draw girls and I love to drew birds so many times I do both together in one drawing.
And then I think, shall I color it or not.. and most of the time I color it and so many times Im unhappy with my work after I add the color.

I think she looked so much better before I did add color.
But it is done and I try to remember next time not to color....

Have a nice sunday

Which artist inspires me the most...

One of my favorite painting inspired by many artist

I was asked by Patience Brewster to
write a little blog about the artist or artists that have inspired me the most. I don't have to think a lot because It is so clear for me. I love colors, bright colors. I lived in India for a year long time ago and as you know India has a very colorful community and I'm sure that I have got inspired from all the colorful Indian life. You can see colors everywhere.

But a artist I think I have to say that for a long time I have loved Hundertwasse for his colorful childish paintings. I love his use of color.

But in my life now there is no doubt  that my most inspiring artist is Mystele.
I got to know Mystele when I took an online class called Life Book, a class with 52 teachers and the class lasted for a year. Something happen to me after my class with Mystele, I started painting and painting, made my Lovely Ladies, so many of them that I don't have the number of how many.

They were all colorful ladies with a beautiful quote in their hair.
I love Mystele´s paintings, love how beautiful ugly her ladies were, and they were all colorful. Sine then I have taken many classes from her and I still like her paintings so much and I always wish that I could paint like she does :)

Inspired after a class with Tracy Verdugo

Now I have taken so many other classes and got inspired form other artist like Australian artist Tracy Verdugo. I love the way she paint, layer by layer with bright and beautiful colors. I had the opertunity to take her class in Stockholm few weeks ago and I enjoyed it so much.

I love painting and I love to make things out of my art. I wish one day some one will discover my art so that I could see my work of art in a piece of art like Patience Brewster.... are doing with their art. Go look at their page to see what they are doing, love their Christmas Ornaments.

My Blog Hop

For the first time Im taking a part in a Blog Hop.
For one week, we (few girls) will be posting one after another our art on or blog        and giving away something to one of them that leaves a message.
So please leave a message and you might be the lucky one :)

What I should make for this Blog Hop was a Totem animal.
Im not 100% sure what Totem animal is but Im doing my best trying to understand..

As always I do start with the background.
This time Im working on a pice of wood.
I found a map and did cut out South America,
I did that for Guada, the girl that started this Blog Hop :)
Then I did use my stencils, little here and little there.

Then I did draw birds, 3 little birds on a paper. Mulberry paper I think the name is but I learned to use it from a friend.
Most of the time I do add 3 things to my paintings, don´t know why
but I would love to say that these are my 3 children.

Then I did a little more stenciling.

Painted the birds and let them dry.

Then I did glue my birds on the background and added a little stencils here and there.. did a little doodling.

And my painting is ready. What do you think?

3 little birds, all the same for the mother, one has left the nest that is my oldest son.
The one in the middle with its long legs is my daughter, still at home though she studies in USA and stays there most of the time.
The little one is my youngest son, still staying at home and I think he is going to stay for a long time or as long as his computer lives :)

So here you have my Blog Hop, remember to leave a message and feel free to follow so that you can see what the other Blog Hopper have for you..

You can find out all about it here

Have a beautiful and blessed day

My painting makes me a little sad..

I was asked to paint a painting.
A girl, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a teacher, a beautiful person died, she was young, to young to die.
From the moment I was asked I knew how I wanted my painting to look like but was not sure that the people who asked me would like a painting like that.
The day before I had made sketches of few paintings and the first one was the one I wanted to paint.
I don´t paint for people, I paint for myself, hoping someone else is going to like my painting and if they buy, I´m very happy.
I did start.
And I did paint.
I did not stand up for 5 hours, I wanted to finish my work, so I would have time to make another one, very different, If they did not like my painting.
I worked two more hours in the evening and then the painting was ready.
I was very happy with my work and I so hoped they would like my painting.
They did, they loved my painting.
They gave it away to the girls coworkers.
They loved my painting to.

Hope you like my painting too.
Happy PPF and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Namaste.

It is friday again..

Last weeks I have made these 3, love each and everyone of them.
they are painted with acryl on canvas.

As you know then Im taking classes all the time and in these paintings I can see the technic I have learned from few of my classes and I love to see how I mix all of them together to make my own style.

I love little birds so I had to have birds in my painting. It is always the same type of bird but with a different decorations.
I have one more canvas like these so Im going to make one more, have already made the sketch for it.

My paper maché lady is not ready yet. I have brought her home so I have her on my desk and se is ready to get her face done.

Now I have diary for year 2014 ready for sale as well as I have sketchbooks and notebooks.

when Im not painting Im knitting or crocheting. This time Im making some squares for
A beautiful project for the children in Syria.

I bought me a new book, it just arrived but it is a beautiful book from Mindy Murphy Lacefield, I highly recommend it if you love to look at others art, she also shows us the way she creates her girls.

Hope you all have a beautiful weekend and happy PPF to you :)

I did take a class with Mystele my favorite girl..

As I was looking through my groups I found a wonderful class with Mystele and it was a free one.. not bad..

The class was about how to use Chalk Pastel ... with Gesso.

First I tried to make one but it was not working so I did try again.

After talking to Mystele I started slowly, using a good brush trying to avoid
making a mess.

And it worked...

Im happy with the one I made and I have started on another painting using the same method.

This one is almost done..... I have to work a little more on the colors..
For me it is difficult to make a lady with small or tiny hands or a big head,
Im always trying to play with my paintings....

Tell me what you think...

Have a beautiful day all of you and a happy PPF to all of you :)

My guarding angels

I had to make more of my Guardian Angels, did not have any at home, all sold out. I like making my Angels, I think they all look so different and kind of cute..

I have been using 300 gr watercolor paper cold pressed and one day I tried hot pressed and Im very happy with that paper, it is like painting on silk, it is like the color is floating so nicely.

Now I have to make few more so that I can have ready for my exhibition in September but then Im going to have both Lovely Ladies and Guardian Angels.
