Im learning from Kelly Rae Roberts....

My newest class is the one with Kelly Rae Roberts.
Im in love with her art, she is the best in layers, I think.
I love the way she build up her paintings, layer by layer
and her choose of color is so fantastic.
As she says then she loves the white and use it a lot to blend other colors with.

It all starts with paint building up layers of colors, warm colors, cold colors and all the other colors and sprays, stencils and stamps, layer by layer.

There are so many small details in her paintings and I tried to do my best by
finding small things that would fit in my painting.

I worked on my first one for a long time, was not happy,
to crowded and something was wrong.

So I did a little changes here and there and now Im almost done,
going to work a little more with the lettering in the bottom.

I started working on my second background. Did a good start.

Love this one, reminds me of the summertime.
Not going to work more on this one.

This one is on my desk now.
Im a little afraid with this one, dont know what to do next.
Have not glued down the butterfly jet, not sure if I use it.
Love the colors in this one, they are not my favorite but I like them.

That is my life today....
Trying to learn from the best...
Hoping that one day I find my style using all the tricks
from all the wonderful teachers I have been learning from the past two years.

Have a beautiful day, all of you

Inspired by India, inspired by Pinterest

The class for last week in the Soul Food class was to find a board on Pinterest and make a painting inspired by the photo you pinned from Pinterest.
As Im in love with India and have been for 25 years I did choose to use photos I have already in one of my boards in Pinterest, My India.

I had to add the OM symbol to my painting so I did choose to add it to the mans bag.
I love this symbol.
Om Aum (or OM) is a mantra, or vibration, that is traditionally chanted at the beginning and end of yoga sessions. It is made up of three Sanskrit letters, aa, au and ma which, when combined together, make the sound Aum or Om. It is believed to be the basic sound of the world and to contain all other sounds.  It is said to be the sound of the universe.

I love the colors of India, love this photo and wanted to use blue color to the door in my painting.

This photo is amazing, good job from the photographer. Look at all this colors, almost like the color wheel.

And finally I had to add this lady, carrying her water on her head, maybe a long way.
Made me think how good my life is, so many things to be grateful for.

Have a beautiful weekend

Where there is love there is life...

I love to play around with my paint.
I did start this one yesterday, took it with my to my job and continue working on it while my students were making their own art.
It is a little dark but that is because I did use ink and as you might know the ink is coming through all other colors. It was a turquoise one.
Im so happy with this one, love it....
I did color the fishes she is holding with a golden color but it does not show here.

Have a beautiful day

Soul food week 6

In week 6 in my Soul Food we were making small books.
I did take a big pice of paper, added a lot of layers of colors and let it dry.
When dried I did cut the paper down to long stripes and then I had to find out what was hiding on my paper.
First I used a pen to mark my figures and then I did start painting with white or refresh the colors that were already there. The teacher was Lisa Patencio.
Im happy with my work, might add more photos to this post as Im working on 3 more.

Have a beautiful day

Soul Food

I did start in a new class Desember 30th.
The class is Soul Food, hosted by Mystele one of my favorit girl.
Together with her in the team are Heather Santos and Janette House.
The class is for 6 months and there are tvo or three lessons every week.
I did make my first lesson, but I did not follow the rules...
I did forget my self playing with my paint.
First I did turn my paper landskape and then I did two girla instead of one
and the little boy was there and did not want to leave.
I tryed to paint over him but he was still there.
So I had to allow him to stay.
Im going to make another one trying to follow rhe rules.
Ill post a photo as soon as it is ready.

Have a great day.

Traveling Art Project..

Today I did get a mail from Norway.
I had totally forgotten all about a project I did sign up for a long time ago.
It was a traveling art project.
A piece of canvas that was shipped between 12 mixed media artist and each had to paint a little and then send it to the next one.
I was the last one to paint and I did add the little angel in a pink dress, in the right, to the painting. Then I did add the white little dots you can see just to finish of the painting.
It is nice to take a part in a project like this.
Now Im sending the painting to New Zealand and where the girl taking care of the project will make a book of the process of all the paintings but there are 3 going on around the world.
The pice of art will then be given for charity.

Have a beautiful weekend.

What a wonderful home made cat...

In my paper maché class on Tuesday I was working on a large bowl, I did forget my camera at home so I don't have any photos.
When waiting for the bowl to dry I made a little cat.

To day at home I did not have any paper maché so I did use a self dry clay to finish of my cat.
I think this is going to be a perfect cat for all my birds... maybe I should make a birds cage so the cat wont catch all my birds.

I was working on my christmas girl as well, I finished painting her so now I can have her hanging on my wall during christmas.  You can see my christmas girl dressed in red.
This is what I have been doing last weeks working with paper maché. The girl dressed in blue is a doll I made of fabric and paper clay.
Have a wonderful sunday.

My painting makes me a little sad..

I was asked to paint a painting.
A girl, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a teacher, a beautiful person died, she was young, to young to die.
From the moment I was asked I knew how I wanted my painting to look like but was not sure that the people who asked me would like a painting like that.
The day before I had made sketches of few paintings and the first one was the one I wanted to paint.
I don´t paint for people, I paint for myself, hoping someone else is going to like my painting and if they buy, I´m very happy.
I did start.
And I did paint.
I did not stand up for 5 hours, I wanted to finish my work, so I would have time to make another one, very different, If they did not like my painting.
I worked two more hours in the evening and then the painting was ready.
I was very happy with my work and I so hoped they would like my painting.
They did, they loved my painting.
They gave it away to the girls coworkers.
They loved my painting to.

Hope you like my painting too.
Happy PPF and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Namaste.

Worked in my gallery, where we had long opening hours.
And Im so tired.

But one night I went to my school. One of the teachers is a quilt designer, you can see her webpage here  http://www.disadesigns.com we had  to make a christmas runner.
We had so much fun cutting, glueing and sewing. About 12 showed up.
Im very happy with my runner witch I did decorate with hearts.

What to do staying at home with a flu...

Last week I was sick, staying at home, having a flu.
I was to sick to sit and paint so I moved over to my sofa.

I love to sit in front of the TV with my Neocolor and my watercolor paper and just start drawing.
I did start drawing one bird, then another.
I had to make background so I did draw houses, mountain and just kept on drawing till I was happy with my drawing.
Then I only needed one fine brush, water and my Neocolor.

The next day I did want to draw again so I started drawing an owl. When taking Life Book 2012 Juliette Crane was one of the teachers and she was teaching how to draw an owl.
I love her style of drawing and painting.
Now I´m back to work, have had a busy week but now it is weekend.... love it :)
Have a wonderful weekend and a happy PPF to all of you.

My doll is done and a wonderful girl bought two prints from my Etsy shop :) :)

It does not happen often but it did happen now....
Im sick, having a flue.

I hate being sick and not able to go to work, especial now when we, all the teachers and the staff are having a friend week at work and Im missing everything.... Im sad :(

This week I did sell two prints from my Etsy shop. It made me so happy because I have not been very active there, always forgetting to add new things out there.
But now Im going to add new items in there as soon as I have made them :)

It would make me very happy if you would take a visit one day, just to see what I have there and maybe share my shop with your friends.

After sewing my doll, filling her up and adding the clay I painted her black, I found it a little strange but after adding other colors I saw how cool it looked.

Here you can see how se look, kind of like her face but Im going to make a new skirt, think it will look better if I make her wear skirt in bright colors.

If you missed my last post you can see it now because there Im showing the process of making the doll.

My ETSY shop

Have a wonderful weekend where ever you are and a happy PPF
