Happy New Year...

Few weeks ago I did order some stamps from China.
I really love these, all reminds me about my favourite country, India.

Love making the background before I start stamping.

What do you think?

Hope you all have a wonderful night.
Here in Iceland everything is getting crazy at midnight.
Fireworks for an hour or two.

Pour my dog and all the other animals that don´t like the bombing.

Happy New Year to you.

Layer by layer :)

Like always I´m painting.. I did start working on this one last winter but was not happy so I decided to keep it for some time. Yesterday I started again added layer by layer of bright and beautiful colours and when i was happy I washed it with white, something I learned long time ago but had forgotten all about it until I saw one one line teacher use this Technic.
Im quite happy with my girls and owl now but far away from finished.

Hope you have a very nice week.

Ill start working later this week... would love a longer vacation.

This summer I have been painting a lot...

I took a class by lovely Jenny Grant but she was the host when I
was in Stockholm last summer taking Tracy Verdugo´s class Paint Mojo.

Jenny´s class was on Life Book, a year long class with
new teacher every week and a lot of
new method to learn in every class.

I wanted to use brighter colours and I did
add a little gold on the Mandalas.

I like them but I feel like I´m not finished yet,
have to add a little here and there..

Have a great week

Another Mixed Media Painting from Iceland

That is my second blog for Rubber Dance Stamp

Hello again. Sigga Dís from Iceland here, and this is my second
Guest Designer project for Rubber Dance.

This time I made a different painting.
Using soft colours and a little collage wings.

I started using two blue/turquoise and one
pink paint on a 300 gr. cold pressed
watercolour paper from Daler Rowney.

Then I did some stamping, and I love these
stamps from Rubber Dance.

Some details, don't you just love these stamps?

I left a little blank space where I drew a face,
I love to draw faces.

A bit of white colour here and there.

Black outlining with paint.

Coloured her hair and dress.

Changed the colour of her dress:

After using my brayer adding some
white colour here and there I wanted
to add wings to my girl.

Had a little problem deciding where to
add the wings.
Used a black Posca pen around her eyes,
nose and mouth.

Before I feel like finished I had to add a
little text to my girl.

It says..

Your wings already exist, all you have to do is fly...

Love this text...

Supplies I used:
Daler Rowney 300 gr. cold pressed watercolour paper
Golden fluid acrylic paint
Martha Steward paint
Brayer
Posca pen
Collage butterfly wings I found on the internet
Some brushes
Pencil
Golden gel medium for the wings

Here you can find me:

Thank you for stopping by.

Have a great day

Still working on this one..

As you know I did not like the colours and the face in my painting
so I did paint over and changed the colours in my Mandala.

Yes, I changed the face, the colour of the Mandala and did add another hand...
Still a work to do, give the new hand a colour and
work a little bit on the background :)

Have a beautiful Wednesday.

Did not like the colour in my Mandala..

I did make this beautiful Mandala but did not like the colours..

And I did not like this pretty face...
So I painted over with Gesso and started paint the Mandala in new colours..

And I did paint a new face, more like my face..
with the big nose and my kind of eyes..
Here Im in my sofa corner with my painting and some paint..

I did add some black colour around my girl and Mandala,
now I have to start with the background and girl..

I love my Mandala now, I love my girl now... I hope I dont have to paint over again...

Have a wonderful day

We have the sun in Iceland now.... and I hope we are going to keep it for some time :)

Painting in the sun

Yesterday we had a beautiful weather in Iceland so
I took my canvas out and did a little painting in the sun.
Just if we could get more sunny days here, today it is cold and no sun.. so Im painting inside..
I was playing with ink, stencils and paint..
Not sure about the outcome, I'm not finished yet.

The ink did dry fast in the sun.

Played a little with hot and cold colours.

Drawing a girl.

Adding outlines to my Mandala girl.

Have a nice week

I did paint a painting that I was happy with :)

I had to give last Life Book class another try, not happy with the first one I made.
So I started making background with my ink.
Then it was to draw a Mandala, that was easy as I love Mandala making.
After the Mandala was ready painted I did start with the girl holding the Mandala.
Then it was to paint and use some pens for the outline. Some ink here and there.
Litle paint here and there, some more lines and little paint on the Mandala.

Dont you think she is ok? I think so, happy with the colours and happy with the Mandala. The face is ok but the hands are still to small.. Have to practice on hands :)

Have a great Sunday

New painting for Life Book

Last weekend I made a new painting for Life Book 2016.
The teacher was Renata Loree and I just have to say that I loved her class.
We did start by drawing a Mandala then we drew the girl like around the Mandala.
I wanted my Mandala to be visible but some did paint over most of the Mandalas.
I was not to happy with my painting, didn't like the girls face, know I can make a beautiful face.
The hands were too small and so on...
But after watching my painting I started liking it more and more so I decided to post a photo of it.
Im making a new one, this time Im going to do the girl more my style..

Have a beautiful weekend
