Flora Bowleys e-class.....

Today I signed up for Flora Bowley's e- course starting in January...
Have been wanting to take her class since this sommer when I found out about her and her beautiful way of create.

I had a little difficulty choosing a class, so many I want to take but I found it a little challenge to paint big like Im going to do at Floras course.

❤

I did buy her book, that book is a Bible, so nice to read, so relaxing and the photos are beautiful.

I have not made up my mind about The Life Book 2013, one year, 22 new teachers. Very interesting.. but I can sign in there after Floras course as Im familiar to Life Book now after taking Life Book 2012

My sweet little princess and few unfinished Whimsie girls..

I have not told you much about my self but now I´m going to show you my sweet little granddaughter.
She is my first grandchild and I just adore her.
Today is her two months birthday, she is growing so fast.
I´m so much looking forward to spend the Christmas with her and her parents.
She is smiling all day long..

Here are my new Whimsies style girls, little different from My Lovely Ladies, but as much fun to make. I am a little bit in love with them and I think I´m going to make much more of these..

I have been sick all week. Hate to be sick, I have not been able to paint but I could doodle a little where I was sitting trying to get better.

First I made one drawing, then another and so on, I could not stop. This was reminding me of when I started with My Lovely Lady, I could not stop...

When I had 8 done I did start coloring them, started with my Neocolor, then a little water and brush, little pens here and there and then colored pencils.

After that they had dried out I did start with my white Acryl painting,
painting strait from the tube.

Now I did start working on the background with my Neocolor and my brush.

Now I just have to get better of this flu... so that I can start working on the background with all my paint and stuff.
Have a beautiful weekend and a happy PPF.

Some of my favorite paintings..

Today I don´t have any new painting to show..
so Im going to post a few old one..

This one is one of my favorites..

This one was made for Ellie´s Jornal, a collaborative art project.. for fundraising for
Ellie´s fund, brain tumor trust.
I love this painting..

This one is my angel, love this one too, love the colors and her
beautiful wings with all the doodle..

Here is another angel I love.
I used to paint in dark colors using oil color until.
That was before I found out about Mixed Media..

After taking Fabulous Faces at the Willowing I did paint this angel,
she is so sweet, so dreamy..

I kind of love this one, a little wild with her flower hair.. nice colors and I think she has a beautiful mouth and nose..
I think I love all of them.. they are my favorite..

Thats all for now.

Have a happy PPF..

A new little whimsies girl..

Weeks 45 in Life Book class was making a little whimsies girl.

I liked making this one very much, think they are cute.

As an art teacher I always try to teach my student to have the right size of the head and the body and now Im drawing whimsies with a big head.. so form now on Im going to allow them to draw a little whimsies too.

First I made a drawing, then I colored it with a Neocolor and finally I did paint over with acryl and used markers and pens and a little glimmer to the spider web.

Now the Life Book is almost over, one more month to go.

This year has gone very fast, always waiting for new classes..

Life Book 2013 will start on January 1, my birthday...

Now I have to decide if or not I shall sign in..

22 new teachers and the price is so good....only 60 pound.

52 weeks of fun and nice friends..

Have a beautiful week all of you and Happy PPF.

Sandra McCall´s interview with me.

Sigga Dis - artist
INTERVIEW BY SANDRA MCCALL OCT 30.

SIGGA DÍS LIVES AN ARTFUL LIFE IN ICELAND.  SHE IS AN ART INSTRUCTOR WHO TEACHES KIDS- AGES SIX THROUGH SIXTEEN. PHEW- BIG AGE SPREAD THERE. I THINK THAT IT MUST BE A CHALLENGE TO COME UP WITH GAME PLANS THAT WILL KEEP KIDS OF ALL AGES INTERESTED IN ART. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT SIGGA HAS A THRIVING BLOG, AN ETSY SHOP AND IS ON FACEBOOK TOO.
SIGGA SAYS THAT WITH ALL OF HER WORK AND PAINTING, SHE DOES NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT TV IS ANYMORE. I ASKED THIS BUSY LADY IF SHE WOULD TAKE TIME OUT TO TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT HERSELF, HER STUDIO AND HER ARTWORK. SHE HAS GRACIOUSLY SUPPLIED SOME PHOTOS AND HAS ANSWERED A FEW LITTLE “INTERVIEW” QUESTIONS FOR US.

SM: WHEN DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER YOUR PASSION FOR ART?
SD: I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN DRAWING, PAINTING AND WORKING WITH CLAY.
I LOVED TO GO TO ART CLASS WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL.  SOMETIMES MY ART TEACHER GAVE ME SOME BOOKS TO TAKE HOME TO READ. I WAS SO PROUD WHEN I MET HER A FEW YEARS AGO AND TOLD HER I HAD BECOME AN ART TEACHER TOO.
SM: THAT MEETING WITH YOUR TEACHER MUST HAVE BEEN FUN. WHAT PATH DID YOU TAKE? WHAT IS YOUR CREATIVE SPECIALTY TODAY?
SD: TODAY –  IT’S MIXED MEDIA. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT MM. WHEN YOU WORK WITH MIXED MEDIA, YOU CAN PUT EVERYTHING TOGETHER AND MAKE A PIECE OF ART. YOU CAN PAINT, CUT, STAMP, GLUE, DRAW AND MIX IT ALL TOGETHER. BEFORE I JUST LIKE TO PAINT WITH OIL COLORS AND WATERCOLOR.
SM: I LOVE YOUR FACES. THEY ARE ADORABLE ON THE MUGS TOO. YOU HAVE A STYLE THAT LENDS  ITSELF TO A VARIETY OF MERCHANDISE. HOW WOULD YOUDESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
SD: I DON’T KNOW. I LOVE TO DRAW GIRLS AND LADIES, BUT THEY ARE LADIES WITH BIG NOSES AND THEIR EYES HERE AND THERE. I THINK I HAVE MADE ABOUT 50 OF THEM AND I LOVE ALL OF THEM.
SM: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ART MEDIUMS? AND WHY IS THAT?
SD: NEOCOLOR, ACRYLIC, STAMPS AND PENS. IF I HAVE THESE, I CAN DO A LOT AND OF COURSE WATERCOLOR PAPER 300GR, MY FAVORITE.
SM: DO YOU EXHIBIT YOUR WORK?
SD: YES I DO. THIS YEAR I HAVE HAD 4 EXHIBITIONS WITH MY LOVELY LADIES THAT ALL WENT AND I’M BOOKED AT 4 PLACES NEXT YEAR.
SM: WHAT IS YOUR BEST TIP FOR ORGANIZING YOUR STUDIO?
SD: I HAVE JUST MOVED TO A NEW ROOM WITH MY STUFF, IN MY OLD ROOM I COULD NOT PAINT ANYMORE. I HAD STUFF ALL OVER THE PLACE. NO I’M GOING TO CLEAN THE MESS AFTER EVERY PAINTING I MAKE. WHEN WORKING IN MM YOU ARE USING ALL KIND OF PAPER AND JUST ALL KIND OF STUFF SO IT IS VERY EASY TO LOSE CONTROL OVER YOUR STUFF. I TRY TO ORGANIZE MY THINGS, LIKE KEEPING ALL OF MY PENS TOGETHER, ALL MY PAINT TOGETHER, ALL MY PAPER AND MAGAZINE AT ONE PLACE AND SO ON. EVEN IF IT LOOKS LIKE A MESS, I ALWAYS KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND EVERYTHING. I WAS WONDERING IF I SHOULD HAVE MY COMPUTER IN THE SAME ROOM AND DID DECIDED TO TAKE IT WITH ME.  I THINK I WAS RIGHT BECAUSE THEN I CAN LISTEN TO CLASS WHILE WORKING.
SM: WHAT’S COMING NEXT FROM YOUR STUDIO?
SD: TODAY I WAS WORKING ON A PAINTING FOR LIFE BOOK. IT WAS FUN. I HAD TO USE FABRIC AND ALL KIND OF THINGS. TOMORROW I’M GOING TO USE MY SEWING MACHINE TO FINISH THAT PAINTING. THAT’S THE ONE LAYING ON MY DESK IF YOU LOOK AT THE PICTURES.
SM: ANY BLOGS, WEB SITES, LINKS OR CONTACT INFORMATION THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO

LEAVE US WITH?
SD: I HAVE A BLOG AND A FACEBOOK PAGE. THEN I HAVE ETSY SHOP, BUT I HAVE NOT HAD TIME TO WORK ON THAT ONE FOR A LONG TIME BUT WILL SOON.

Tracy Verdugo was this week teacher in the Life Book

I loved this week lesson in the Life Book.
Tracy Verdugo was teaching and this time I loved her lesson.
I have admired her paintings for a long time and vanted to learn what kind
of teknik she is using.
Now I know so I was so excited to try.
I was so happy with my first painting.

First I did start adding some dots here and there.
Then I played with a wooden stick and my fingers,
added a little water spray.

Then I did add some more colors and more dots and little of this and that.

And that is the resultat.

I love studying the colors. Yellow, red and blue are the primary colors, if we mix them together we have a brown color. These are the colors I was using in this one plus the white color and a permanent pen for the writing.

And when I had made one I had to make another.
Now I was only using red and blue using the same teknik, dots here and there and then the wooden stick and water spray.

Then I added a little more, used my stencil and my fingertips.

It was looking beautiful..

And to finish I was using the white color and my permanent pen.
Love this pice.

The second one reminds me of Christmas, the red and the blue together with the white.

Hope you like my new painting as much as I do :)

Have a beautiful weekend all of you
and
Happy PPF to the rest..
