This is my second assignment for MIID (make it in design).
I have learned a little about Ai and Ps, learning something every day. Im not happy with it but I love the colors.
While trying to learn Ai and buying a class from Skillshare I found out about a online class with Bonnie Christine, hosted by Creative Live what a great class. Now Im looking at all the videos again and learning and learning.
I think my third assignment will be made in AI, I hope so :) Im going to practice and practice :)

Make it in design

Im always trying something new.

I have seen on FB that so many are making patters, all kind of pattern so I did start searching for more to see. Then I found out about Make it in design summer school.
I joined without knowing much about it as there was a beginner track.
I have never worked in Photoshop or Illustrator so what to do,
I had to learn to use Ps and Ai.

I signed up for a class..es at Skillshare and have spent hours by hours
going through the programs trying to learn and Im learning.

I have now submitted two assignments, the first one was so simple and not a pattern at all but could easily be changed to pattern if I had the knowledge . It was so much work learning how to cut out all my fishes and mixing them together on a new layer.
The theme was  Tropical Paradise.

Next brief has the theme Tribal Shapes. I submitted my work few minutes ago. That shows a pattern, a pattern like that one we use for knitting here in Iceland.

It took me hours to make but in the end I found out how I could have copied and pasted every item as soon as I did make them in stead of using the pen tool making every little thing I made. Ill show you the results in few days. Maybe I should have used more time adding outlines but I did not.. I don't know how to :)

She is beautiful

As you might know then I did take a class...

Imaginarium Doll from Artful Gathering
Teacher was the wonderful Mary Jane Chadbourne.

I really enjoyed this class where we made dolls on wood. I did make 3 dolls, you can see them in my last blogpost.

I did also make this Artist Trading Block
Love this one, she is different from my dolls but has this soft face and beautiful colors.

Now I have one block left, you have to come back to see how she will turn out

My Blog Hop, the second week.

A new Blog Hop is here and now the theme is face..
I have been doing a lot of faces, all kind of faces so I thought it would be easy to make one for this blog hop.. but Im totally not happy with my face today, maybe I was in to much hurry as I was traveling this weekend.
But this is what you get this time, will try to make my next face nicer.

I know you love to see the process so I had my Ipad with me and tried to take a photo here and there so you could follow me.
I did start with the help lines.

So far I loved my drawing, the face looked so nice and I loved her long neck..
so easy to make a face if you have the helplines :)

I did start painting with Neocolors and at this step still love my painting, wish I had stopped there but I did continue..

Now I have added some Acryl paint and collage paper and now I think she has started looking bad. I did have to remove the collage paper as I did not let it dry and made a hole in it.. I always find it hard to wait while my paintings are drying.

I wanted to make a Mandala for the background but it was not so easy should have started with the Mandala. Here I have removed the collage paper.

At this point I just wanted to finish my painting so I did add some lines and a little doodle here and there..

Her she is, my face for this Blog Hop.
I don´t ask for much but I hope that you like to see the process.

As last time there is a list of my fellow Blog Hoppers, please visit their blog and leave a comment for  a change to win a giveaway but don´t forget to leave a comment for me and you might be the lucky winner and get something nice from me :)

Have a great week

Bunny time..

Now my Soul Food classes are almost over.
It has been an half year of creation, two classes every week.
New teachers and new assignments.
Some of the classes I have enjoyed more than others.
and then I start creating and can not stop until
I have made few painting with the same Technic.
That happened when I took Micki Wilde class.
It was all about bunnies :)

First I made this lovely one with the little heart, love this one :)

Then my daughter did need a gift for her friend so I made another :)

After the second one I could not stop, wanted to make more,
so I did this little one with her little friend the bird :)

And then I had to try one more and made this one with beautiful
background which I made with my new Gelli Plate, what a fun.

The last two I made are half the size of the others,
don't like them so much, don't think those two colors holds in hand.

Have a great week

My Blog Hop

For the first time Im taking a part in a Blog Hop.
For one week, we (few girls) will be posting one after another our art on or blog        and giving away something to one of them that leaves a message.
So please leave a message and you might be the lucky one :)

What I should make for this Blog Hop was a Totem animal.
Im not 100% sure what Totem animal is but Im doing my best trying to understand..

As always I do start with the background.
This time Im working on a pice of wood.
I found a map and did cut out South America,
I did that for Guada, the girl that started this Blog Hop :)
Then I did use my stencils, little here and little there.

Then I did draw birds, 3 little birds on a paper. Mulberry paper I think the name is but I learned to use it from a friend.
Most of the time I do add 3 things to my paintings, don´t know why
but I would love to say that these are my 3 children.

Then I did a little more stenciling.

Painted the birds and let them dry.

Then I did glue my birds on the background and added a little stencils here and there.. did a little doodling.

And my painting is ready. What do you think?

3 little birds, all the same for the mother, one has left the nest that is my oldest son.
The one in the middle with its long legs is my daughter, still at home though she studies in USA and stays there most of the time.
The little one is my youngest son, still staying at home and I think he is going to stay for a long time or as long as his computer lives :)

So here you have my Blog Hop, remember to leave a message and feel free to follow so that you can see what the other Blog Hopper have for you..

You can find out all about it here

Have a beautiful and blessed day
